Between 27–31 October 2025, the agronomists of ANYFION GREECE S.A. had the opportunity to visit the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (MAICh) and participate in the training program titled “Sustainability Assessment in Agri-Food Production Systems.”
This program is part of the MSc in Sustainable Agriculture, delivered by the Institute with the participation of young agronomists from various Mediterranean countries.

Programme Objectives

  1. To provide an overview of sustainability challenges related to agriculture and food production at farm, product, regional, and global levels.
  2. To explore possible strategies for sustainable agriculture and food systems that address these challenges.
  3. To introduce participants to the basic principles of sustainability analysis in agricultural and food systems.
  4. To provide a general overview of tools used for sustainability assessment in agricultural and food systems.
  5. To develop understanding and critical discussion of sustainability assessment case studies.

The instructor was Professor Christian Schader from the world-renowned Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) in Switzerland (www.fibl.org).
